Hiring Movers That Show Up
There are so many things people worry about when hiring movers. One thing that people rarely think about is whether or not the movers will show up. Why wouldn’t the movers show up? That just seems outrageous right? It happens all too often, more often than you can even imagine.
Why Wouldn’t Movers Show Up?
Some movers choose to try to generate as may calls as possible. These movers will spend large amounts of money marketing their company just so they can generate calls. They will then underbid all of the other movers in Columbus. Why would they underbid everyone else? The goal of a moving company is to have a move scheduled each and every day. Therefore the moving company will do whatever it takes initially to get you to choose their company. If they have any other people call to schedule a move on the same day they will book their job too. They will then choose the move that is worth the most money and not show up to the other moves which they have scheduled. You can do all the necessary research, think you have gotten a great deal, and end up having no movers show up on moving day. They typically don’t call to let you know they will not show up either. This leaves you struggling to find a mover on short notice. It takes a decent amount of time to do research on a moving company. When you are struggling to find replacement movers at the last minute, you can easily fall into the hands of some bad moving companies. Hiring movers that show up is pretty important.
A no call, no show on a move is one of the worst offenses a moving company can have. If a moving company has had no-call, no-show moves in the past the odds are pretty good that they have had some complaints on their company. Doing careful research can help decrease the odds of hiring a no-call, no-show moving company. New moving companies that have not established a reputation and large nationwide moving companies are the most notorious for not showing up. You should always ask how long a company has been in business. You should also ask if they are a local moving company or where they are based. Local moving companies have much more at stake so they are more likely to always do the right thing no matter what the cost.
